Minor league Red Wings game-worn jersey from the late-1970s/early-1980s is from Detroit’s American Hockey League affiliate in upstate New York. The Adirondack Red Wings were based in Glenns Falls from 1979-1999. Offered is an intriguing variation on the Red Wings uniform, a white and red mesh affair with the famous Winged Wheel crest sewn on the front. Number 13 is sewn on the back in red twill, while the smaller numbers on both sleeves are sewn-on white twill. Sandow SK is screened in red on the right rear tail and SK size “X Large” and laundry instruction flag tags remain in the back of the neck. This AHL Red Wings gamer with a fight strap loop sewn inside the back measures out to approximately a size 48. There is a small circular team repair on the right front tail and a pair of round red sewing fixes on the right elbow, with an unrepaired nick beside them. There are a few black marks and some stains on the front tail and some damage to the red thread stitching on the numbers on the back. A cool variation on the classic Red Wings jersey from the outset of the minor league affiliate’s two decades in the Adirondacks.
