Tough guy Jim Thomson wore this white home gamer when he made his L.A. debut with Wayne Gretzky’s Kings in 1990-91. Jim racked up 19 PIMs in eight games with the Kings. He spent most of the season with AHL New Haven, piling up 121 PIMs in only 21 games! Jim wore #17 with the Kings only in 1990-91 before yielding it to HOFer Jari Kurri the following season, when he switched to #25 while totaling 162 PIMs in 45 games. The nameplate is a slightly yellowed white and the stitching makes it clear that it was a rush job when Jim was called up from the minors. Maska Air-Knit flag tag in the neck has size “54” written on it in blue ballpoint. CCM and NHL logos are embroidered on the right rear tail and the fight strap is whole and intact. Small dried bloodstains on the left elbow and high on the back of the left sleeve and faint marks on the top of the back of the left sleeve at the shoulder seam are the best of wear on this obviously lightly used gamer.
