Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Gretkzy-era Kings game-worn jersey was worn by rookie center Todd Elik during the 1989-90 season. Elik was called up from AHL New Haven and this road gamer recycled from the previous season was most likely made up for his use, with his surname letters in silver and white double twill sewn-on directly to the jersey and not on a nameplate, like his new Kings teammates. There is no evidence of a nameplate removal. CCM logo embroidered on the right rear hem is the black, black and grey of the 1988-89 Kings jerseys. Maska Ultrafil flag tag in the neck has size “52” written on it in blue ballpoint. Game wear includes a couple of marks on the right front beside the upper sleeve seam, soiling around the collar, and sweat and possible dried blood stains on the front and rear tails.
