Goaltender Ed Belfour watched the 2nd period from his perch on the bench, wearing this brilliant wine-colored uniform, during the 1999 NHL All Star Game held in Tampa, Florida. He would return to take his spot between the pipes in period three wearing a different shirt. The North Americans skated to an 8-6 win in Wayne Gretzky's final All-Star appearance. The special event jersey includes an embroidered Canada flag sewn onto the right breast, the 1999 All-Star Game logo on the right shoulder, a Dallas Stars crest on the left shoulder and a black and silver NHL crest logo on the front of the jersey. A white CCM logo is embroidered on the right rear hem along with the NHLPA and NHL logos. The NHL's inventory tag is sewn onto the bottom of the fight strap and the size 58 and CCM goalie style tags are sewn into the neck with a laundry tag sewn into the inner left seam. Ed has added a bold signature to the back numbers and the one-period uniform does not display any signs of game use.
