Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Perfect plum Western Conference jersey worn by Hawks sniper Tony Amonte during the 1997 NHL All-Star Game in San Jose. The game marked the first time (and last) Gretzky and Mario Lemieux played together since their 1987 Canada Cup heroics. Knit jersey by CCM in size 54 has CCM and Center Ice tags in the collar, "Amonte" sewn-on in individual letters (no nameplate), the commemorative 1997 All Star patch and a Chicago Black Hawks shoulder patch. Little to no signs of game wear, as is to be expected. The inside of the fight strap is stamped in red "1997 NHL All-Star Game - San Jose" and has a registered identification number that identifies it as one of the five shirts issued to Tony for the weekend.
