Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012

Signed game-used Jofa lid was worn by Quebec Nordiques star Real “Buddy” Cloutier, who scored a hat trick in the team’s first NHL game in 1979. A junior star with the city’s Remparts, Cloutier made his pro debut as an 18-year-old with the Nordiques in 1974-75. Two years later he led the Nords with 66 goals and 149 points during the regular season, before adding 14 goals and 27 points in 17 playoff games as Quebec claimed the Avco Cup. “Gamer” is printed in black marker above where Cloutier has signed the padding in the back of his blue Jofa helmet, which comes with an LOA. Also included is Cloutier’s game puck trophy from his four-point game with Quebec at the beginning of his rookie junior season. Three of Buddy’s plaques round out the lot, including one with the Remparts’ logo centered on a red-and-black ceramic tile mounted on a 8” square wood plaque honoring Cloutier’s record-setting 216-point season in 1973-74, a 13 ¼” x 10”scroll-shaped 1974 Athlete of the Year plaque, and a 1979 plaque from the Ottawa Le Droit newspaper. Also included are ten cards of Real Cloutier in VG-EX to EX condition.
