Patrick Roy's 2002-03 game-issued Koho goalie pads, glove and blocker are from the Hall of Fame goalie's last NHL season. Koho 590 Pro Series set by Lefevre in Colordado Avalanche colors consists of goalie pads, blocker and trapper, all with Roy's name embroidered on them, made for specifically for St. Patrick's use. A style used by Patrick only in 2002-03, this was either Roy's extra or backup set from his swan song season, or the wear could be second-hand, but it is a pro set made for him by goalie equipment guru Michel Lefebvre. Action photos of Patrick from his last season show the "Lefevre" tagging at the top of the side of the pads, whereas these examples have them sewn on lower down. Color-fading on the back of both the glove and blocker is likely from sun exposure. “Koho by Lefevre Pro Series” tagging is sewn on the pads, glove and blocker, as well as each of the two thigh boards included.
Huge burgundy, white and blue Koho goalie pads stand approximately 38” tall with “K 590 Series” logo embroidered just below the knee of both pads. “Roy” is embroidered in white above the knee on the outer side of both pads;
Blocker has “Roy” embroidered in white on glove’s cuff above the thumb. Patrick’s surname is also embroidered on the back of the cuff of the glove.
Patrick is pictured wearing this style of pads, glove and blocker in both a recent 8x10 photo and his Game Breakers hockey card by Victory which are included.
