Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012

The Ottawa Senators returned to the NHL in 1992 after playing their last game in 1934. The Senators hardly disappeared during their 58-year absence from the big leagues, at least not for another 20 years after the original NHL team moved away. This distinctive red, black and white barber-pole Senators game-worn jersey was worn by defenceman Frank "Butch" Stahan for Ottawa's Quebec Senior Hockey League team in the early-1950s. "Senators" is spelled out in worn and cracked white felt script affixed to a black felt crest sewn on the front. Number "3" on the back of this tie-neck wool sweater is sewn-on white-on-black double felt. There is a 5-inch long team repair on the rear tail and numerous unrepaired holes throughout this historic wool gamer do not diminish its display.
