Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012

Jaromir Jagr captained the Pittsburgh Penguins into a new millennium wearing this white airknit affair from the 1999-2000 season. Jagr had a stellar year; he was named to the First NHL All-Star Team and won the Art Ross Trophy for a third consecutive season and the Lester B. Pearson Award for his second straight season. The NHL's 2000 patch rests on the upper chest and Jagr's "C" is over on the opposite side. Hundreds of stick marks litter the front and sleeves of this example with more of the same found on the back. We believe we have photo-matched the jersey to an action shot that shows the series of black stick marks rising up from the Penguins crest on the chest, a team-issued postcard of Jagr with the possible match is included. Neck tagging includes a large ProPlayer tag and another label with the size (56) noted in addition to marker notations reading "68 C". Comes with an LOA from a senior Vice President of the Buffalo Sabres who originally obtained the jersey.
