Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
A couple of nifty Canadian issues lead the chronological order here, with Tommy Lasorda’s card #58 the highlight among two dozen 1952 Parkhurst cards which feature minor leaguers. Pictured with his Montreal Royals cap, Lasorda checks in at VG, with most of the others including a crease or two or three and in the G, G-VG and VG range, but with no back damage. Similar condition and duplication with some 120 cards from the 1962 Post Canadian issue, highlighted by the presence of Hall-of-Famers Mays, Koufax, Mathews, Banks (2), Ford (3 – all “Dodgers” variations), Marichal, Cepeda (2) and Frank Robinson. Condition improves in a stack of over (150) ’64 Topps cards which include EX, EX+, EX-MT and intermittent NM examples, 20 of them high numbers and highlighted by 547-Gil Hodges and 567-Jim Kaat. Mostly commons, along with a few minor stars, among the rest. Completing are a ’59 Topps Norm Cash RC in VG+ condition and approximately (700) ’73 Topps cards. Not big on star power, the lot includes loads of doubles, no high numbers and averages EX.
