Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Some relatively inexpensive pre-war fun is offered up here with these low grade “gum” cards, with the following details to “chew” on. Best of the Hamilton Gum cards is an Aurele Joliat example at F-G with multiple light creases and a few indentations, while Larry Aurie’s RC is better condition-wise at G. A Joe Primeau rookie is F, with major flaws affecting Ace Bailey, Ebbie Goodfellow and Pit Lepine RCs, (missing corners), along with Sylvio Mantha (writing on the front). The Canadian Chewing Gum lot is led star-wise by King Clancy, Hap Day and RCs of Busher Jackson, Dit Clapper, Goodfellow and Aurie which are all intact with problem-free backs but with multiple creases and F. Other similar cards are those of Dillon, Gracie, Heller, Roach, Sorrell and Touhey, while glue stains affect the backs of six others; Bostrom, Dutton, Gottselig, Red Jackson, Alex Smith and Trottier. Fourteen others are heavily trimmed and good for scrapbooking purposes, including Lionel Conacher, Hainsworth, Stewart, Horner, Bailey and Connell.
