Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012

The weird, wild, crazy stuff continues to land on our doorstep(!), with already rather scarce 1971-72 O-Pee-Chee posters offered here in unheard of uncut form! The posters were originally offered to collectors in packs of two (uncut) but they’re in uncut sheets of four here, with the following combinations. Bobby Orr is joined by the Canadiens team photo, along with Phi Esposito and Garry Unger. Another highlight foursome includes Ken Dryden alongside Gump Worsley, with a young Gilbert Perreault and an aging Jacques Plante above – sweet! Relative youngsters Guy Lafleur and Tony Esposito are joined by Bobby Hull and Orland Kurtenback, with Tim Horton’s Penguins uniform, Walt McKechnie Golden Seals garb, Bruce Gamble’s Flyers jersey and Jean Ratelle’s red, white and blue Rangers outfit combining for still more eye candy. The two others feature Dale Tallon, Yvan Cournoyer, Rick Martin and Rod Gilbert, and then Red Berenson, Dave Keon, Bob Pulford and Norm Ullman. Each foursome has a total size of 23-1/2” by 37”. They were folded at some point, resulting in fold lines through the middle of each mini poster, but there are no unsightly or even minor edge tears that we can spot. More fascinating goodies for astute hobbyists to consider!
