Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Obscure collectibles will interest many and are the American version of the inaugural Eddie Sargent stamp promotion and offered through the United States` Finast grocery chain. Finast stamps, as you see here, were packaged in cellophane, with each package containing a folded sheet totaling 14 stamps and sold back in the day for 15 cents. Ya, ya, we want to go back too! Sixteen different packages include a total of 224 stamps, meant to be cut with scissors and stuck into the accompanying album. You`ll have fun spotting Hall-of-Famers Orr, Giacomin, Tony O and Duff in one package, Beliveau, Bucyk, Clarke and Worsley in another, Howe, Howell and Lemaire in another and so on and so on – what a blast! The album featuring Bobby Orr on the cover has the Finast notation differentiating it from the Eddie Sargent Canadian version and is in VG+ condition with no major flaws, just a little cover wear. A neat bonus is a paper wrapper which originally contained eight Canadian Eddie Sargent stamps.
