Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Pre-war wrapper enthusiasts should be enticed by this paper affair which once was wrapped around a Williard’s Sports Nut Bar, with a collectible card also included in each package. The Toronto firm offered a prize to boys and girls who saved 100 Sports Bar Labels and sent them in to the company. There were 56 picture cards in the multi-sport set, with four of them commemorating Team Canada’s gold medal victory in ice hockey at the 1924 Chamonix Olympics and featuring future Hockey Hall-of-Famers Hooley Smith and Harry Watson, along with Dunc Munro and goalie Ernie Collett. Measuring 1-3/4” by 4” and in nice tear-free condition with a few light bends/creases, the one-time holder of rather scarce cards is awaiting its new appreciative home.
