Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012

Classic image of hockey immortal Francis "King" Clancy, which also appeared on other companies' cards during the 1933-34 season, is featured on this scarcer "V129" example, with King looking mighty good indeed in KSA NM 7 form. One of the keys to the set, card #8 describes Clancy as "one of the speediest players in hockey and a leader of all the Leafs ganging attacks when the opposition is short handed" and "King is the iron man of the Eddie Shore type, playing most of the game." Visible wear at the top two corners is to be aware of here, with the PSA Population Report revealing only eight submissions to that firm, with a NM-MT 8 and two EX-MT 6s leading the way. Outstanding example of an all-time great will elevate a high grade vintage slabbed portfolio to new heights.
