Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Intriguing issue released by Campbell Soup in the early-1930s, these cards came in panels of two and depicted the "Campbell's Kids", along with a rhyme that promoted the company's soups. They were meant to be separated and then bent in half, propping the kids and their die-cut heads into a 3-D scene. A hockey player and a tobogganer highlight this Canadian set of eight (the American version had 22 totally different cards), with the 4-3/8" by 6-3/4" panel having been graded "NM/MT 8" by SGC. Two other panels are also 8s, while the other is NM 7. Colourful cards could be used (on the back) to keep score in card games like Bridge and have their original glassine envelope present. A fabulous find!
