The Izvestia hockey tournament’s snowman mascot is featured on the front crest of the vintage 1980s hockey jersey included in this lot. International teams compete for the “Wooden Snowman” trophy at the Moscow-based tournament. This Soviet Union Izvestia Trophy jersey is a red mesh affair with a screened crest sewn on the front. Stars on the shoulders, numbers on the sleeves and back, and yellow bands on the sleeves and tail, which also displays diamond shapes, are all heat screened vinyl. Athletes Wear, Winnipeg and laundry instruction flag tags sit in the back of the neck. Also included is a Lucite “Canada 1972” paperweight with a gold-colored hockey player encased in that is similar to the ones presented to members of Team Canada 1972. Rounding out the lot are a variety of 10 pucks, including a 1970s Junior de Montreal Biltrite, a trio of Quebec Nordiques pucks, including a white and red logo with a WHA reverse, and a Rendez-Vous 87 puck, among others.
