This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
The outstanding careers of Hall of Famer Valeri Kharlamov and fellow Soviet hockey greats Viktor Shuvalov and Alexander Ragulin are celebrated in this lot of three Russian-language commemorative plaques. This newly-manufactured memorabilia features colourful career achievement metal plaques including vibrant images. These magnificent displays measure roughly 13x10 and are mounted on a 15” x 12” wood plaque. Each comes like-new in a red velvet-like lidded box that measures 17” x 14” and is 2” deep with a clasp closure. Kharlamov won two Olympic gold medals and eight world championships before his tragic death in a car accident in 1981. He was inducted posthumously into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2005. Shuvalov was a member of the Soviet Union’s first Olympic gold medal team in 1956. He won two world championships and was inducted into the Russian Hockey Hall of Fame. Ragulin, like Kharlamov, a veteran of the 1972 Canada-Russia series, won three Olympic golds and 10 world championship titles. He was inducted into the IIHF Hall of Fame as well as the Russian Hockey Hall of Fame.
