One of the first Soviet national team players to suit up in the NHL, Helmuts Balderis wore this 1989-90 Minnesota North Stars gamer during his brief North American stint. Helmuts played 26 games for the North Stars in 1989-90, wearing No. 43. This game-worn road jersey is recycled from the 1988-89 set with the Team Choice patch on the hem covered with a white mesh plate. No evidence of a number change, so this gamer was likely made directly for Balderis' use. Size 54 is written in faded ballpoint on the Maska Air-Knit flag tag. Game wear includes team repairs on the sleeves and tail and marks on the front tail. Team repairs include one in the green band on the front, 8 sewing fixes on the back of the right sleeve and another extensive grouping of repairs on the back of the left sleeve,
More game wear shows in unrepaired cut hole to the left of the middle of the “3” on the left sleeve and marks on the front tail. Comes with Helmuts Balderis' signed LOA. This item may be subject to a silent reserve.
