Ken Morrow's national team medal awarded for his participation in the 1978-79 national team selection from Colorado Springs that led to the 1979 Team USA World Hockey Championship team that competed in Moscow. Herb Brooks based his decision to create the foundation of the 1980 US Olympic team predicated upon the individual player's performance in the 1979 World Championships for Team USA. For example, Jim Craig and Ken Morrow were locks going into the 1980 Olympic trials because of their play in the 1979 World Hockey Championships for Team USA - even to the extent that Herb Brooks waived his "No Beards or Facial Hair" rule and grandfathered Ken Morrow's beard. The Ken Morrow medal is in the original presentation box and is originally from the collection of Ken Morrow.[red] Addendum; This item's description has been updated from our catalogue description.[/red]
