From a netminder who was coming off his two best NHL seasons with the Washington Capitals and who helped Canada to a silver medal, the country's best finish since returning to the IIHF World Ice Hockey Championships in 1977, comes this brilliant gold ring from 1985. Originally obtained from Pat Riggin, the memento brings forth the story of how Canada even played for the gold in its final medal round game, losing, however, to the host Czechoslovakians 5-3. Riggin fashioned a 4-2-1 record in the tournament, with his ring featuring "Team Canada Equipe - Prague" encircling the team's logo on the front and "19" and "85" appearing on the shanks. The maker's hallmark and "10K" are on the interior of the size 9-1/2 band, with the ring exhibiting very little wear. Light scratches and two miniscule edge dings are only visible upon magnification. From a silver medal performance, the appealing Team Canada memento will be accompanied by an LOA.
