Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
All hockey followers who witnessed the spectacle need to hear is "1987 Canada Cup" and images of Wayne Gretzky and Mario Lemieux come quickly flowing back, producing a smile for those who appreciate greatness. Teamed for the first time in an important international event, the phenoms were a joy to behold and led Canada to top tournament honours thanks to Mario's winning goal, set up by Wayne, in Canada's heart-stopping 6-5 win over the Soviet Union in the deciding game of the best-of-three final, forced by Canada's 6-5 double overtime win two nights earlier! Featuring four real diamonds below the famous half maple leaf logo, this gold ring includes "MacGregor" and "10K" on the interior of the size-11 band, with "1987" on one shank and "Kukulowicz" on the other. That would be "Aggie" Kukulowicz, a former player whose love for languages led to a long career as an interpreter. Moderate wear to report with light scratches and a few small edge dings. Recalling some of the most exciting hockey ever!
