Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Team Canada jersey worn by Jean-Yves Roy during the 1988 Izvestia Cup tournament in Moscow is photo-matched! Roy is pictured wearing this game-worn jersey with a big black mark on the front below the left shoulder in a team photo that includes Andy Moog, who only played for the Canadian national team in 1987-88. Calgary 1988 Olympic patch is sewn on the left sleeve and Team Canada patches are sewn on both shoulders. The cuffs of both sleeves were customized to make openings smaller by tight wraps of yellowed white hockey tape. More game wear is detailed below. More game wear shows in black marks on the front tail and sleeves. There is an unrepaired burn hole on the left sleeve and the right sleeve displays red paint transfer.
The nameplate appears whiter than the rest of the jersey though there does not appear to have been any nameplate change and the red twill surname letters have puckered.
Maska flag tag remains in the neck. No size is indicated, we measure it out to a size 54. The fight strap is whole and complete.
