Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
One of the last pieces of the Avalanche’s first Stanley Cup season snapped into place when Colorado acquired Hall of Fame goalie Patrick Roy from Montreal in December 1995. The following spring St. Patrick helped lead the Avs to their first Cup with a four-game sweep over Florida. Offered is Patrick’s #33 Avalanche signed vintage pro jersey which displays the 1996 Stanley Cup final patch on the right breast and Roy’s black marker autograph on the right “3” on the back. This style with the square Starter logo box patch on the right tail dates from the Avs’ first season in Colorado after the franchise moved from Quebec City. It has NHL Center Ice and size 54-R tagging in the neck. Patrick’s autograph on the textured twill of the number was obtained by our consignor in person. This magnificent jersey comes with a COA.
