The number 2 pick in the 1970 NHL draft, Dale Tallon debuted immediately with the expansion Vancouver Canucks, who snapped up the versatile junior player right after Buffalo chose Hall of Fame centre Gilbert Perreault number one overall. This team-signed Tallon gamer from his sophomore season in Vancouver is signed by 20 members of the 1971-72 Canucks, including team captain Orland Kurtenbach and Pat Quinn. Dale’s number “9” is written in black marker below the knob and his surname is misspelled “Talon” on the stamp on the shaft. Tallon’s original tape jobs remain, with well-worn white tape wrapped over black bulldog tape on the knob. The white tape job on the blade is worn through with a rough bottom edge of the blade. The front of Tallon’s CCM Custom Pro gamer had the factory printing sanded off to leave a blank slate for the black marker autographs which include the likes of Ed Dyck, Dennis Kearns, Pat Quinn, Orland Kurtenbach, Bobby Schmautz, Wayne Maki, Ted Taylor, Gregg Boddy, George Gardner, Dunc Wilson, John Schella, Ron Ward, Bobby Lalonde, Dave Balon, Richard Lemieux, Wayne Connelly, Barry Wilkins, and Andre Boudrias. The signatures are nice and bold with a few smudges, and there is a nail hole through the middle of the shaft.
