Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Rangers greats Bill Cook, Chuck Rayner and Gump Worsley and fellow HOFers Allan Stanley, Harry Howell and Andy Bathgate are all featured among the members of the 1952-53 Blueshirts who signed this vintage Gaye Stewart game-issued stick. “Stewart” is stamped on the middle of the shaft of this Northland Pro stick, which displays a Gerry Cosby & Co. stamp above it and Stewart’s number “16” handwritten at the top of the shaft. Lightly faded autographs are legible with some water damage. A two-time Stanley Cup champion with the Toronto Maple Leafs in the 1940s, Stewart signed to the right of Stanley, who went on to win four Cups with the 1960s Leafs dynasty. Bathgate signed further up along with Hergesheimer, Prentice, among others. Coach Cook and Rayner signed at the top. The Gumper signed “Lorne Worsley” low on the shaft along with Howell and the likes of Mickoski, Raleigh, Conacher, and Ross. This historic Rangers team-signed stick has been authenticated by PSA/DNA, which placed a sticker high on the shaft. Comes with the LOA from PSA.
