Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Nice big cut signatures of Canadiens legends Toe Blake and Doug Harvey lead the way here, with the former signing "Hector Toe Blake" late in his signing career and Harvey penning a bold black ink sig to a now cut index card (2-1/2 x 5). Bold vintage ballpoint autographs on lined notepad pages and also with repro photos to match up with are those of Bouchard, (with Gravelle on the other side), Curry, (unknown on reverse), Harmon, Laycoe, Chamberlain, Leger, Laycoe, Dussault and, on cuts, Carveth and journalist Charles Mayer. Details of a letter signed by Frank Selke Jr. and John Ferguson's signed rookie card, along with LOAs are noted below. A one-page letter on “Club de Hockey Canadien Inc.” letterhead, dated April 28, 1958, was sent to a fan who had requested Habs team photos and is signed by Associate Publicity Director Frank D. Selke Jr. in bold blue ballpoint. Ferguson’s rookie card, meanwhile, features a nice blue Sharpie autograph and is a crease-free beauty, with card #33 in Parkhurst’s 1963-64 set grading EX-MT. Both the Selke Jr. letter and the Fergie RC come with PSA/DNA letters, while the Harvey signature is accompanied by a PSA/DNA Certificate of Authenticity.
