Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
The University of Alabama in Huntsville is now the only NCAA Division I hockey program located in the southern U.S. Back in 1995-96, the UAH Chargers were Division II champs, going undefeated and beating Bemidji State 7-1 and 3-0 at the Von Braun Center to claim their first NCAA title. To mark the occasion, team members received magnificent rings like this one. Set onto a blue stone is "UAH" in studded letters, with the year and "National Hockey Champions" encircling them, along with four glittering stones. "Undefeated" and "NCAA" as well as the Chargers' awesome 26-0-3 record appear on one shank, with a non-player "Driggers" name, a hockey player and "H" on the other. A touch of tarnish and scrape are near that "H" along with intermittent light scratches elsewhere. On the interior of the size 13 ring is "Jostens YLTM." Commemorating a special championship season!
