Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Awesome U.S. college hockey piece spurs the story of Northern Michigan University's trek to the 1990-91 national championship, captured with a breathtaking 8-7 triple overtime win over Boston University! The WCHA champs had previously beaten Alaska-Anchorage 8-5 and 5-3 and then Maine 5-3. Marking the school's first and only national title, this handsome gold creation features a golden "N" on an emerald colour stone, surrounded by the school's name and those wonderful words, "National Champions." Reference to the Wildcats' WCHA title is on one shank with a hockey player and "Jacobetti" on a banner on the other. That would be Dominic J. Jacobetti, who was the longest serving state representative of Michigan and who received the ring as a gift from NMU. "Josten's 10K" is on the interior of the size-10 ring, in excellent condition with light scratches and three edge dents to report. Wonderful college hockey souvenir will come with an LOA.
