Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Formidable minor league memento commemorates the Rochester Americans' fourth Calder Cup title, secured in the spring of 1987 with a thrilling come-from-behind seven-game triumph over the Sherbrooke Canadiens. The Amerks trailed in game six at the War Memorial Coliseum but came roaring back in the third period to force game seven in Sherbrooke, which they won 4-2. St. Paul, Minnesota native Jeff Parker was presented this keepsake for his contributions, with his surname and number "25" joining an Americans logo on one shank, while the AHL's championship trophy appears on the other. A zirconia is set into an Amerks logo affixed to a blue stone on the tableau, encircled by a sloping "Calder Cup Champions". The interior of the size-11 band in inscribed "LGB 10K" and the ring is in excellent condition with light to moderate wear in the form of light scratches and indentation dings, visible in the "CHA" of champions and the Amerks shank logo. An LOA will be included with this marvelous memento.
