Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
The Fred Creighton-coached Indianapolis Checkers were the class of the Central Hockey League in 1982-83, racing to a 102-point regular season before capturing the Adams Cup in the playoffs and receiving dandy creations like this for their efforts. Indy first took out Salt Lake in six games and then curiously beat the Birmingham South Stars five games to two in the finals. Notables in the Checkers' line-up were goalie Kelly Hrudey, Gord Dineen and Darcy Regier. Presented to Dr. Kenneth Adams, the team dentist, this splendid size-8 ring features a zirconia at each side of a likeness of the championship trophy on the front, with a nice enameled Checkers logo and "83" on one shank and "Adams" on a banner above a hockey player on the other. Appearing on the interior of the band is "Josten's 10K". Exhibiting very minor wear with light scratches and awaiting its new appreciative home, the ring will be accompanied by an LOA.
