Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Vancouver Canucks faithful, as well as ring collectors, will be intrigued by this nifty creation once worn by centre Bill Derlago, Vancouver's first round (4th overall) draft pick in 1978. A knee injury (suffered in practice!) limited Bill to nine games in '78-79, and then Derlago was sacrificed 52 games into the following season, along with Rick Vaive, so that the Canucks could land Tiger Williams from Toronto. A sloping "Vancouver Canucks - NHL" encircles the classic Canucks' skate logo of the day on the front, with an image of a hockey player on both shanks and "Bill" on a banner on one and "Derlago" on a similar one on the other. With "Josten's 10K" on the interior of the size 11 band, the ring shows moderate wear, with light scratches, a few tiny edge dings visible upon magnification and an indentation in the "H" of NHL. A letter of authenticity will be included with this cool piece of Canucks history.
