Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Two swell displays relating to Wayne Gretzky's first pro season as an Indianapolis Racer are led by a nifty 24-inch pennant, which the hockey phenom autographed in black marker and which is matched up with an autographed card picturing Wayne in a Racers uniform, but not produced back in the day. Custom-matted and framed to 12" by 32", the piece will be accompanied by a COA from Field of Dreams. Meanwhile the WHA's "Big Hope" for its future first appeared on the cover of The Hockey News in October, 1978 and was already dubbed "The Great Gretzky." A mailing label, cover wear and scratches to the plastic "window" are to mention.
