Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Functional art! Wayne Gretzky's silver Easton 5100 stick used immediately prior to or during the 1991 Canada Cup Tournament features a spectacular hand-painted blade. The Great One is portrayed in his Team Canada uniform by noted sports artist Steve Houston, who Wayne commissioned to produce these wonderful embellished gamers. This example has Wayne's black marker autograph on the throat of the special Canada Cup blade insert with the "Gretzky" factory stamp. A small chip on the bottom front edge from game use has been painted over. "B 41" is written in black marker on top of the wood butt end inside the black foam gripper and both the shaft and blade exhibit game wear.
