Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012

Bruins captain Ray Bourque wore the alternate captain's A on the left breast of his Wales Conference game-worn jersey from the 1989 NHL All-Star Game in Edmonton. Ray had no problem deferring the C to Montreal's Larry Robinson, who had to lead his Wales squad against Wayne Gretzky's Campbells in the Great One's second game at Northlands Coliseum since the trade that sent him to the L.A. Kings. Ray made his mark in the game, assisting on Mike Ridley's goal midway through the third, the Wales' last in their 9-5 loss. Black and orange airknit affair is tagged in the neck by Maska with size "52" in ballpoint. The 40th NHL ASG patch is sewn onto the right shoulder and the NHL's star and shield on the left. Game wear shows in a pair of faint black marks on the white band of the left sleeve. There are small stains around the patch on the right shoulder, and another further down the sleeve. This fantastic All-Star game-worn jersey was obtained by our consignor directly from a member of the Bourque family and will come with a detailed letter outlining the provenance.
