Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
HOF defenseman Allan Stanley's game-used stick is signed by 18 members of the 1959-60 Maple Leafs, including the late Tim Horton. Though they lost in the Stanley Cup final to Montreal, the Leafs were well on their way to their own Cup dynasty of the 1960s. Other HOFers who signed include Stanley, Armstrong, Bower, Mahovlich, Olmstead, Duff, Pulford and Imlach. The autographs are in a variety of pens, all very legible with a couple of faded examples. Stanley's number "26" is stamped on the shaft of his CCM Professional game-used stick, which displays nice game use and retains his tape jobs on the knob and blade. A couple of blackish stains on the signed side of the shaft do not diminish this historic team-signed 1959-60 Leafs stick's display. The “6” stamped below Stanley’s number on the shaft represents the lie of the stick.
The stick is signed in order, from low on the shaft towards the knob, by Imlach, Stewart, Edmundson, Mahovlich, Baun, Armstrong, Harris, Olmstead, Duff, Wilson, Ehman, Bower, Hampson, Horton, Brewer, Reaume, Stanley and Pulford.
