Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012

We try not to over-use the "rare" word but boy, it sure does apply to this captivating...rarity! Featuring a rendition of Toronto star forward Irvine "Ace" Bailey and mentioning his 1928-29 NHL goal-scoring title, (he scored 22 and also led with 32 total points in a 44-game schedule), the cardboard ad with (never-used) easel back for stand-up purposes measures a big 20" by 28". "The World's Professional Champions" of '28-29, the Boston Bruins, with Ross, Shore, Clapper, Weiland and Thompson, are on one side of the image of a "World Famous Tackaberry Hockey Shoe and CCM Special Skate," while on the other are the Allan Cup champion Port Arthur Seniors. In the lower right corner is "Printed in Canada by Sampson-Matthews Limited, Toronto." Some minor peripheral paper loss is to mention, along with light soiling, a 3" crease descending into Ace's left forearm, two holes in the upper corners and...that wild pink-blue-gold-purple color combination, helping to combine for a tantalizing offering.
