Conn Smythe's Toronto Maple Leafs played their first full season in 1927-28. The Major bought the St. Patrick's during the previous season and renamed Toronto's NHL team. Smythe is standing in the middle of the back row of this vintage 7 1/2" x 9 1/2" team photo of the 1927-28 Leafs. Fellow HOFers pictured include Hap Day, Ace Bailey and Joe Primeau, along with goalie John Ross Roach and long-time Leafs trainer Tim Daly. Fabulously detailed outdoor pose is displayed on a vintage print that has been nicely preserved overall. There is adhesive tape on the bottom right side and a tape remnant on the bottom left side. The print remains attached to its original grey matte, which has been cut on all sides, and is displayed in an 11x13 frame. The team members' names are taped onto the back of the matte.
