They cleared the track and Eddie Shack came back! The four-time Stanley Cup champion and Maple Leaf Gardens fan favourite returned to Toronto in the summer of 1973 for a second stint with the Leafs. Eddie the Entertainer had 15 points in 59 games in 1973-74. He played 26 more games the following season before calling it a career. Eddie's circa 1974 tie-neck Maple Leafs #23 game-worn jersey displays Rawlings size 50 tagging in the back of the neck. Maple Leaf crest patches in vibrant blue soft thread are sewn on the shoulders. Eddie's customary #23 is sewn on the back in white twill, and both sleeves in blue twill. There is a one-inch team repair to fix a vertical tear at the bottom of the lowest left lace hole in the tie-neck front. The top left one is torn and the top right one is stretched. There is another sewing fix on the left elbow and more game wear includes diagonal marks on the left front tail and a dried blood stain on the left rear tail. There are a few light stains, likely sweat, on the upper part of the "2" on the back. Fantastic mid-1970s Maple Leafs gamer worn by the one and only Eddie Shack! [red] Addendum; There is an additional team repair on the lower left sleeve near the cuff.[/red]
