Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Hall of Fame center Igor Larionov's late-1990s/early-2000s Red Wings game-used skates are offered here along with one of his NHL goal pucks from early in the 1999-2000 season. Hockeytown Authentics hologram and price tag stickers are affixed to both items in this lot, including the Russian legend's Bauer Supreme skates which have red fuzz from Detroit's colors around their boots' felt tongues. Igor signed in gold paint pen on the face of a Red Wings NHL official game puck for the game-winning goal he scored set up by fellow HOFers Yzerman and Murphy in a 4-2 win over St. Louis on October 13, 1999. The toes of both skates have glossy finish where team equipment staff cleaned up scuffs. More game use shows in black marks on the white plastic Tuuk blade holders.
“Detroit v St. Louis, PPG, October 13, 1999, Detroit 3rd goal, Scored #8 Larionov, Assist 19 Yzerman, 55 Murphy, Time 14:45, 2nd Period, PPG” is written in ballpoint on the wide band of white hockey tape placed over the NHL official game puck reverse.
