Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Three-time Stanley Cup champion Brendan Shanahan is featured in this trio of items originally purchased from the Red Wings team store. Included here are Brendan's early- to mid-2000s game-worn skates and his signed early-2000s game-used stick, both of which saw duty in 2002, as well as a Shanahan signed NHL official game puck from late in the 1999-2000 season from a game-winning overtime goal he scored against Nashville that was set up by Steve Yzerman and Nicklas Lidstrom. The Hockeytown Authentics price tag remains on Shanny's CCM game-worn skates while his Easton two-piece stick and the goal puck both have HA hologram and price tag stickers. Brendan’s CCM game-worn skates have loads of reinforced stitching on the sides of both boots and glossy finsish where team equipment staff repaired the scrapes, cuts and scuffs on the toe.
Shanny’s signed Easton Classic two-piece stick is a solid, crack-free gamer that retains his tape jobs on the knob and on the blade. “Shanahan” is stamped on the front of the wood blade insert which is signed by Brendan in black marker on the front of the heel. The HA hologram sticker is affixed to the bottom of the front of the shaft and the price tag is high on the shaft just below the black tape knob.
Brendan has signed in gold paint pen across the top of the face of the Red Wings overtime goal puck. “Detroit-Nashville, March 14, 2000, Detroit 3rd goal, Scored-14 Shanahan, Assist 5 Lidstrom, 19 Yzerman, Time 4:10 OT” is written in ballpoint on a wide band of white hockey tape affixed across the NHL official game puck reverse.
