Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Gordie Howe signed his 1967-68 game-issued team-signed stick three times, including his vintage autograph amid the 19 Red Wings autographs. Mr. Hockey's blue ballpoint signature sits to the left of the Olympic Sporting Goods stamp on the shaft of his solid and crack-free Northland Custom Pro with the "Howe" stamp. Fellow HOFers Delvecchio and Ullman also signed. Gordie, who was 39 when he led the Wings with 39 goals and 82 points, subsequently placed a huge bold blue marker autograph on the blade and another bold blue marker signature low on the shaft. Deceased players who have signed include Gary Bergman and Roger Crozier, along with the likes of Smith, MacGregor, Henderson, Douglas, Crashley, Peters (2), Edwards (2), Watson, Falkenberg, Libett and Prentice, whose black marker signature is smudged.
