Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Cool Steve Yzerman Detroit Red Wings captain's gamer was worn by Stevie Y during exhibition games as evidenced by the straight surname lettering used by the team during preseason games. This example with size 54 and CCM flag tags in the neck dates from the late-1990s/early-2000s with the CCM and NHL shield logos embroidered on the right hem. The Red Wings' 1999-2004 Authentic Exhibition Game Jersey stamp with equipment man Paul Boyer's facsimile signature is screened onto the inner rear hem. Black marks below the Winged Wheel crest and on the front tail are nice evidence of good game wear with more black marks on the right rear tail, bottom of the left sleeve and front of the bottom of the right sleeve. There is evidence of a nameplate removal both outside and inside the jersey with many threads showing, though we see no evidence of any number change. A must-have version of an Yzerman Red Wings exhibition gamer.
