Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
An incredible likeness of legendary hockey broadcaster Rene Lecavalier is displayed in this impressive bronze bust from the Montreal Forum. The long-time French language voice of the Montreal Canadiens, Lecavalier was among a group of a dozen Montreal hockey legends such as Toe Blake, Frank Selke, Danny Gallivan and Sam Pollock who were honoured with 82 bronze busts by sculptor Laurent Bonet that were unveiled in 1982 and displayed at the Forum. The artist's amazing rendition of Rene's head stands just under 11" tall and Lecavalier's name is displayed on a plaque on the front of the 2" tall base. The artist's name is marked on the bottom left of the neck of this substantial and very heavy historic bust.
