Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Coveted ticket stubs from Game 7 (2) and Game 8 of the epic 1972 Canada-Russia Series are joined here by all sorts of cool souvenirs from a couple who were on board for the "Hockey Canada Tour" to Moscow to witness the thrilling four games abroad. A tour brochure, an airline ticket, a receipt ($1516 round trip for two from Vancouver!), intriguing info sheet for USSR, (including customs, currency, import and toiletries info), passenger list and itinerary for the 10-day experience are a blast to peruse, while a seldom-seen 3-1/4" crest autographed by wrestler Whipper Watson, a lapel pin and two snapshots from inside the Luznicki Sports Palace, showing two Zambonis and soldiers lined-up, are also neat. The Game 7 stubs are torn and creased, with a bit of tape on the back of the Game 8 stub to mention, along with a 3/4" tear and "Ticket Hockey Game" written on the front. Oh, to have witnessed it all!
