Historical Hockey Memorabilia Auction Fall 2012
This lot is closed for bidding. Bidding ended on 10/30/2012
Fascinating find of four remarkable and historic Team Canada 1972 sticks include three gamers that saw duty in the legendary Canada-Russia series. Offered are sticks used by Stan Mikita, Bill White and Rod Seiling, along with a Team Canada 1972 gamer from Brian Glennie, who did not see action during the eight-game series against the Soviets. These four sticks were obtained by someone associated with Team Canada 1972 after the September 8 game at Vancouver's Pacific Coliseum. "Mikita" is stamped on the shaft of Stan's Northland Pro which retains his well-worn grip tape knob but has had the tape job removed from the blade. The three other sticks all retain both tapes jobs on the knob and blade, respectively. The "B White" Victoriaville with the Black Hawks defenseman's number "17" written in black marker and the "Glennie" CCM Custom Pro are both special models made for the series. Seiling's Sher-Wood with his surname and number "16" stamped on it has a July 1972 date stamp low on the back of the shaft.
