Historical Hockey Memorabilia Spring 2012

The Philadelphia/Baltimore Stars franchise was unquestionably the most successful team in the brief history of the United States Football League. Head coach Jim Mora's Stars compiled a 48-13-1 regular season mark over the course of the USFL's three-year existence in the mid-1980s. Spending their first two seasons in Philadelphia and their last in Baltimore, the Stars appeared in all three of the rival league's championship games with a consistent lineup that featured running back Kelvin Bryant, quarterback Chuck Fusina and wide receiver Scott Fitzkee in all three seasons. Back-to-back USFL title wins in 1984 and 1985 gave the Stars a 7-1 playoff record overall. Offered here is a Stars red canvas equipment bag with Gerry Cosby tagging. The Stars' logo is screened on one side of the zippered bag, which is roughly 18" x 26" when measured across the bottom. This vintage piece of pro football history has an unrepaired hole on top beside the Cosby label. Otherwise it remains in splendid condition and makes for a unique piece of memorabilia from the ill-fated USFL's most successful team.
