Outstanding vintage Dow Beer framed advertising display celebrates the 1935 Montreal Royals, who finished first in the International League with a 92-62 mark. The regular season champs finished runner-up for the Governors' Cup, the result of a 4-2 final series loss to Syracuse. Royals manager Frank Shaughnessy, who is pictured in the middle row, would go on to become league president. At over 75 years old, this original Dow ad displays really nicely despite a diagonal crease that runs from top to bottom beside Shaughnessy as well as extensive surface creasing throughout the 29 1/2" x 12 1/2" image. A rare find, this mid-1930s Montreal beer ad celebrating a Royals championship team is mounted in an old but not original 33" x 16" wood frame.
