Huge and incredible 1907 Toronto Maple Leafs baseball club framed master photo features 23 original photos of the minor league team's opening day festivities. Hall of Famer Joe Kelley is featured in the amazingly detailed Maple Leafs team photo in the top center of the montage. Kelley starred with the legendary 1890s Baltimore Orioles who boasted a lineup that featured John McGraw, Wee Willie Keeler and Hughie Jennings. Hired as Toronto's playing manager for 1907, Kelley hit .322 and led the Maple Leafs to the Eastern League pennant. The team photo measures 7" x 9 1/2", one of seven big prints among all the photos displayed on a black matte background. Kelley is clear to see atop the steps of a building in one of the large photos, and the team is lined up on the same stairs in another. "Opening Day, May 3, 1907" is written across the bottom of the matte along with "Photos Made by" and "Pringle & Booth" with the studio's Toronto address. The detailed matte is a studio original, with some damage to the edges that are visible within the 37" x 47" wood frame that it was subsequently mounted in. A great piece of Canadian/minor league baseball history.
