A new world record of 2.32 meters in the high jump discipline was set in 1983 at the World Championships by Odessa-born jumper Gennadiy Avdeenko. Avdeenko, who took Gold at the event, was award this charming solid silver replica of the Helsinki Stadium where he "set the bar" in 1983. The hefty silver and enamel piece measures about 5 inches across and is engraved "Gennady Avdeenko, 2.32, 13.8.83" and displays a number of hallmarks as a guarantee of the silver content.
